About us

A personal practice

Yew Fai is a Corporate and Litigation Lawyer running his own legal practice, M/s Y F Tan & Co since the year 2000. Running his own practice also means that Yew Fai adopts a personal, direct, hands-on approach in addressing clients' instructions/needs, resulting in more effective and efficient resolutions to issues with more time and costs savings. In other words, clients get to actually:

  • Talk directly to the actual lawyer i.e. Yew Fai handling their matters, thereby getting their concerns straight to their lawyer and hearing his advice first-hand personally;
  • Instruct the very lawyer who goes to Court for their cases and/or handle their matters, and who will be handling their cases from their commencement to conclusion without delegation;
  • Served by an actual court lawyer with more than 20 years of court experience throughout their cases.

Deliberately small

M/s Y F Tan & Co has been deliberately kept small so that Yew Fai can give each client the personalised service he/she deserves, and we are proud of it. In the vast majority of cases, there is only one main conducting litigator at any one time. It also means that clients are not made to pay for multiple lawyers (from the same firm) for their cases.

Advice backed by court experience

Leveraging on his more than 20 years of hands-on Court Litigation experience, Yew Fai offers advice, drafting and litigation services to clients backed by practical and personal experience of the common disputes arising in various situations, possible solutions to these problems that had worked in similar situations, and some likely outcomes should the disputes proceed to court litigation i.e. corporate experience/advice backed by actual litigation experience, or vice versa.

It is the quality of the delegated mechanic rather than the size of the workshop that first and foremost determines the quality of repairs.
